Q.
Why purchase an off-lease used vehicle?
A. Off-lease vehicles
are typically low in mileage and in excellent
condition. OffLeaseAuto.com purchases vehicles
coming off lease agreements and re-sales them
to you without the typical dealership mark
up. These used cars are generally in high-demand
within the market because they are well maintained
by their previous owners and typically still
under the original manufacturers' factory
warranty. Used Jaguars, Fords, Lincolns, Audis,
Volvos are just a few of the makes we offer.

Q.
Can I end my lease early? A.
Yes you can. The thing you need to consider
is that it could get very expense. There are
usually a penalty involved with terminated
your lease contract early. So check with your
finance company to get an estimate of the
costs before considering a trade-in. |
| |
Q.
Do you take trade-ins? A.
Yes we do. Just click on the leasing/trade-in
link and you can send us information on your
vehicle and we can give you an estimate of
what we can offer for your vehicle |
| |
Q.
What about out of state trades?
A. We won’t ever
say no, but it is usually not to your advantage
to do a trade in if you are outside the state
of Florida. The reason is we offer free shipping
of the vehicle you are purchasing from us,
but you would still have to get your vehicle
to us. You are welcome to drive your trade
to us though. |
| |
Q.
Can I trade in my leased vehicle?
A. Yes, it would be
the same as ending your lease early. So make
sure the numbers make sense for you with any
penalties, taxes, etc that may arise. |
| |
Q.
Can I buy an extended warranty?
A. Yes we offer extended
warranties through a company called Service
Shield. The warranties come in different variations
and prices differ depending on make, model
and miles and your vehicle. Click on the insurance
link to see more detail and feel free to contact
us directly for pricing. |
| |
Q.Is
getting an extended warranty worth it?
A. This is a question
we get a lot. Buying a warranty is just like
buying insurance. You are paying now sdo you
won’t have to pay more later. So is
it worth it? That answer varies from person
to person and unfortunately a question I can’t
truly answer for you. Just review all the
options, the vehicle you are purchasing, research
the history of that make/model, how long you
plan on keeping the car, how many miles you
drive, and the cost of the warranty and decide
for yourself. We are here to help. |
| |
Q.
Do I have to purchase an extended warranty
at the time of purchase? A.
No, but most people like to because you can
finance it into your purchase price. It is
not necessary to buy an extended right away
especially if you have significant remaining
factory warranty. You can get an extended
warranty any time before the original factory
warranty ends given your still have one month
and 1000 miles before the warranty ends. |
| |
Q.
What if my vehicle does not have any original
factory warranty remaining? A.
In this case, you can still purchase additional
warranty coverage. The terms are not as long
as with an extended plan and often times a
little more expense, but coverage Is available.
We can walk you thru those options. |
| |
Q.
Are these certified preowned vehicles?
A. We do not sell certified
preowned vehicles. Most of our vehicles are
still under their original manufacturers warranty
and serviced at the dealerships prior to sell.
Most dealerships sell certified vehicles with
the extended warranty to make them enticing.
We ask that you price our vehicles with purchasing
an extended warranty and compare the same
to a “certified “ one and we think
you will still come out better buying from
us. |
| |
Q.
Do you offer used car financing?
A. We do offer financing.
It is easy to apply--everything is online.
We work with several banks to find the rate
and terms that best fit your needs. We can
now even help some out-of state customers
secure financing. Go to our financing tab
and get more information. |
| |
Q.
What does my credit score have to be?
A. Generally most banks
require a 520 credit score before they offer
you financing. But don’t be discouraged
if you do not fall into this category. There
are lenders who will take more risk so submit
your credit apply on the finance page and
let’s see what we can do. |
| |
Q.
Should I make an appointment to see the vehicles?
A. It is
always best to call or email ahead before
driving in to see a vehicle. We are constantly
moving vehicles from different locations,
getting them serviced, or they are in transit
from a sale. Plus we are primarily an internet
based dealership, so we sale cars online thru
the evening so the car you see today may not
be available tomorrow—SO PLEASE CONTACT
US FIRST. |
| |
Q.
Do I have to pay sales tax? A.
Some people think there is a way around paying
sales tax. If there is I don’t know
of it, so yes you have to pay sales tax. Florida
residents pay 6% and depending on your county
there could be an additional surcharge. If
buying a vehicle from out of state and it
is being shipped to you—you have the
option of paying taxes upon purchase or when
the vehicle arrives to your home state when
you got to register it. Contact us about the
pros/cons of each. But if you are from another
state and picking up your vehicle to drive
back home—then yes you also have to
pay taxes when you pick up the car. |
| |
Q.
Do you charge a dealer fee?
A. Yes, our dealer
fee is only $95
|
| |
Q.
Where do you get your cars?
A. We get our
vehicle primarily in three different ways.
We buy direct from the leasing companies and
other dealerships; from customers wanting
to end their lease (only late models or offer
back out for sale), or direct purchase from
individuals, banks, or dealers |
| |
Q.
Why don’t the dealership that gets the
lease car returned to them keep the car?
A. Most people
don’t understand that with a lease the
finance organization (bank) owns the rights
to a leased vehicle and the bank usually has
the say about what happens when a vehicle
comes to the end of its term. Most often times
it’s quicker for the bank to sell a
vehicle by offering it to thousands of eager
buyers at an auction sale than shopping it
to a dealership that primarily sales new cars. |
| |
Q.
What makes and models do you normally carry?
A. We carry a
variety of makes of models and generally always
stock Jaguars, Volvos, Fords, Lincolns, Kias,
Cadillacs, and Dodges |
| |
Q.
If you don’t have the vehicle or color
I want—will you go find one for me?
A. That is a
broker business and we are not brokers—so
the answer would be no. We are a small company
and focus primarily on buying low priced,
low mile vehicles for the business. Buying
for individuals takes more time and not something
we specialize in. |
| |
Q.
Are all the vehicles off lease only?
A.Over 90 % of
our inventory is offlease only. Off lease
corporate and private lease, also commercial
vehicle leases. |
| |
Q.
When do I vehicle?
A. If you are
picking the vehicle up—of course you
pay when you arrive to drive it away. If we
are shipping the vehicle to you, payment in
full is required before we book the shipping
of your offlease vehicle to you. |
| |
Q.
When do I get my title?
A. If you are
a customer outside the state of Florida, once
you pay in full we will mail the title to
your or to your lending institution depending
if you have a lien holder. If you are a Florida
resident, the state requires dealers to do
all registration and tag work when a vehicle
is sold. So we will hold the title and fill
for title transfer with the state. This process
is usually complete within 2-3 weeks after
purchase. |
| |
Q.
What if I am a member of a credit Union?
A. Not a problem,
many of our customers secure their own financing.
We will work with you and your credit union
to expedite the purchase process. You credit
union will generally direct what paperwork
they will need to complete the transaction. |
| |
Q.
Still not convinced?
A.
Did you know that the previous owners of our
vehicles were "required" to keep
up with their maintenance agreements under
their lease contracts. By buying an off-lease
used car you know you are getting a car that
has been well maintained. A survey conducted
by the Dohring Company, a Glendale, California
research company reflected that approximately
1,300 people planning to buy a car said preowned/off-lease
cars were more attractive than brand-new cars
and trucks. This is simply due to the fact
that you get more value for the price by buying
a higher-end, used automobile. Now go ahead
and contact us OFFLEASEAUTO@offleaseauto.com
or 561-662-8912. |
